Chemical Grouting

Chemical grout is an effective way to stop ground water infiltrating through manholes, joints or connections into a sewer system. Chemical grout is a very cost effective way to reduce the amount of infiltration into the sewer system. It will stop leaks through cracks and joints in structurally sound pipelines and manholes, but it is not structural rehabilitation process. When installed properly it will last for years.
Joint sealing with chemical grout is efficient and economical. Installation is simple. The basic equipment consists of a joint sealing packer, closed-circuit television system, related pumps, gauges, and other gear necessary to properly align the packer with a pipeline joint and force the grout through the joint and cracks to adhere to outside of the pipe and the surrounding soil to solidify and form a waterproof mass. It cures into a flexible, rubber-like material, which can withstand tremendous compression or expansion with out damage.
We use a truck-mounted grout system for mainline joint and lateral sealing for pipe 150mm (6inch) to 1050mm(42inch) in diameter. Material used can be Urethane, Acrylimide and Acrylate based grout compounds.
There are reasons why chemical grout is a good method used to stop leaks:
- Fills Cracks Completely. It can penetrate any crack that will allow water movement, and fill it with a permanent waterproof seal from the inside of the structure to the outside, from top to bottom.
- Cost Effective. Saves on unnecessary treatment plant costs and those costly dig ups. There is also the benefit of very limited disruption to roadway traffic.
